Joe Cate

Graveside services for Joseph Charles "Joe" Cate, 84, of Stonewall are 11:00 a.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Cate passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at his home. He was born July 7, 1932 in Faribault, MN to Noland Eugene "Jack" Cate and Charlotte Bitker Cate.

He married Dorothy Zachor July 10, 1954. They were married for 62 years. Mr. Cate owned and operated a convenience store in Stonewall . He had also been an auctioneer, welder and an electrician. He was of the Lutheran faith and had served in the U. S. Navy from 1950 – 1953.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; daughter, Cheryl Delozier and husband Arnold; a son, Bruce Cate and wife Kathie; nine grandchildren, Chad Delozier and wife Wendi, Shari McGuire and husband John, Erik Cate, Jesse Cate and wife Sarah, Clayton Cate and wife Tasha, Dustin Cate, Chandler Cate, Randall Joshua Cate and wife Amber and Amy Cate; 13 great-grandchildren; a twin sister, JoAnn Verdev; sister, Evelyn Schmidthuber; and a brother, Allan Cate.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randall Joseph Cate; and five siblings, Delores Thielbar, Louis "Bud" Cate, Noland "Dick" Cate, Arlene Pfeffer and James "Jim" Cate.
