J. C. HAWKINS
ADA-Services for Joseph Cornell (J.C.) Hawkins, 69, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Chickasaw Community Center, Rev. Larry Hawkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Hickory Hill Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. A Wake service will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Hawkins died Monday, February 7, 2011 at a local hospital. He was born May 3, 1941 in Ada, Oklahoma to Sam and Bertha Milligan Hawkins. He attended Ada schools and graduated from Chilocco High School.
He married Martha Ann Stick on August 24, 1996. Mr. Hawkins was a custodian at Carl Albert Hospital and also the Pontotoc County Health Department. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of High Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Ann Hawkins, of the home; two grandchildren he reared, Kimberly Walton, Seminole and Nicholas Walton, Ada; three step-children, Thalia Walton and her husband Jeff, Ada, Cynthia Walton and her husband Chris, Ada, and Darla Walton and her husband Ron, Shawnee; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; two aunts, Geneva Ducote and Ruby McKinney; and an uncle, Jack Milligan.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richmond and Caroline Milligan.
Bearers will be Randy Williams, Terry Stick, Freddie Hill, Chris Vann, Ron Ahhaitty and Jeff McDonald. Honorary bearers will be Tom Cooper, Daniel Thomas, Roger Stick, Houston Stick, and Ervin Walton.
