Bill Osborn

Services for Johnny William "Bill" Osborn, 91, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, Revs. Brent Smith and David Fensler will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Osborn passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at an Ada assisted living center. He was born September 3, 1925 at Shawnee to Radford Burl and Julie Belle Dollins Osborn. He attended Center Point grade school and Bethel High School.

He married Katheryn Olive January 12, 1944 in Shawnee. She preceded him in death February 2, 2002. He later married Wanda Stout October 20, 2002.

Mr. Osborn was a driller for Hudson Drilling Company in Shawnee, an automotive machinist for Ada Motor Sales and had worked at the Assessor's Office for eight years. He was a rancher and raised Polled Hereford Cattle. He was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church since 1964. He served as a Deacon of the church and also taught a Sunday School Class. Bill served on the board of the Pontotoc County Cattleman's Association and had served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the south Pacific.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of the home; a son, Jack Osborn and wife JoAnn of Commerce, OK; a brother, Jim Osborn of Protection, KS; two daughters-in-law, Nelda Osborn and Sandra Osborn; two grandchildren, Johnny Osborn Jr. of Ada and Mike Osborn of Morris, OK; numerous great-grandchildren and three great- great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Katheryn Osborn; two sons, Johnny Osborn, Sr. and Jerry Osborn; and two sisters, Edith Lee and Hazel Paler.

Bearers will be Turk Barrett, Justin Osborn, Trenton Osborn, Jimmy Lee Osborn, Bodie Marion and Triston Tully. Honorary bearers will be his Sunday school class.
