JOHNNIE MAE WATSON
ADA-Services for Johnnie Mae Watson, 74, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Church of God in Christ, Elder Charles Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Watson died Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at her home. She was born November 1, 1939 in Ada, Oklahoma to Jasper and Naomi Armstrong Moses. She graduated from Napier High School in Ada. She received a nursing degree and was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was an EMSA employee.
She married Leroy Watson on November 1, 1980 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1992. Mrs. Watson was a member of the St. James Church of God in Christ in Ada.
Survivors include her children, two daughters, Barbara McKinzie of Chicago, Ill, and Cheryl Jackson of Moore, OK; one son, Brad (Denise) Steward Watson of Oklahoma City, OK; son-in-law, Leonard Jackson, Sr.; three grandsons that she assisted in raising, William (Kendra) Franklin Jr., Leonard Jackson Jr., and Derek Meeley. She also has nine additional grandchildren, Christina Daniels, and LaShonda Daniels, of Ada, OK, Cheli Vincent, of Ft Worth, TX, Ashley Steward, of Orlando, FL, Jazmine Yahola, of Norman, OK, Orlando Lewis, of Ada, OK, Christopher Jones, Jarvis Jones, and Darius Jones of Oklahoma City, OK; thirteen great grandchildren; Ashton Drake Jackson of Moore, OK, DeShon, Deiontay, Teondre and Sha'Von Franklin of Ada, OK, Serenti Daniels, London Daniels, Elissia Ashton Colbert of Ada, OK, Bryshay Lewis, Heaven Lewis, Amarie Lewis & JaDance Woods of Ada, OK, Michael Brown of Ft. Worth Texas; a special adopted daughter, Kathleen Meeley of Ada, Oklahoma, and two special adopted sons, Steven (Bud) Seals and Shawn Wells of Ada, Oklahoma. She had a host of nieces, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Bearers will Edgar Frazier Sr., Edgar Frazier, Jr., Reginald Frazier, Greg Colbert, T.C. Hill, Shawn Wells, Steven (Bud) Seals, David James, Jr., and Reuban Bowman. Honorary bearers will be William Franklin Jr., Leonard Jackson, Sr., Leonard Jackson, Jr., Derek Meeley, Mikie King, Bobby Dunn, Jr., and Randy Dunn.
