Mrs. Johnnie Bunch

Johnnie Mae Bunch, 93, died September 7, 2017 at Cornerstone Critical Care Specialty Hospital of Shawnee, Oklahoma.  A graveside service will be held Monday September 11th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Holdenville Cemetery located in Holdenville, Oklahoma.  Her grandson, Michael West, will be officiating.

Mrs. Bunch, the eldest of ten children, was born in  Holdenville , Oklahoma, October 15, 1923, the daughter of Virgil Lee and Cora Lee (Howell) Lee.

She married Paul Thomas Bunch on February 24, 1940.  Mr. Bunch preceded her in death on January 21, 2011.

Mrs.Bunch served her country by helping to build the C47 planes during WWII making her one of the original Rosie the Rivetors.  She was a Cub Scout leader, a Sunday School teacher, and gardener.  Mrs. Bunch worked as a manager of J.C. Penney Catalog Dept., as a manager of Yales Hallmark Store, and as a clerk for Arkla Gas Company.  She was a longtime member of The First Baptist Church of Ada.

She leaves her brother, Donald Lee of Maine; her daughter, Paula West and her husband, Larry of Ada; her daughter, Jo Lynn Sweat and her husband, Joe of La Plata, NM; her son, Terry Bunch and his wife Ramona of Konawa; six grandchildren, Michael West and his wife, Erin of Ada; Amy Mayhue and her husband, Mason of Ada; Robert Sweat and his fiancé, Robin Hanshaw-Phillips of Farmington, NM; Sheree Cox and her husband, Tyler of Ada; Janae Brauning of Ada; Trey Bunch and his wife, Sierra of Ada.

Mrs. Bunch also leaves nine great grandchildren and many close friends.
