JOHNIE SHORES
ALLEN-Private family services for Johnie Harvie Shores, 93 of Allen will be held at a later date.
Mr. Shores died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at an Allen nursing home. He was born February 2, 1918 in the Globe Community, in Coal County, Oklahoma to John Harvey and Eva Francis Pittman Shores. He attended Rock Creek and Childs schools.
He married Bobbie Nell Young on July 17, 1957. She preceded him in death on April 2, 1974. He later married Imogene Douglas. She died in 2009. Mr. Shores was a farmer and rancher all his life and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Patty Beck of Union Valley, and Carol Grigg and her husband Bobby of Allen; two sons, Johnny Shores, Jr. and his wife Mary of Ada, and Billy Shores of Ada; six grandchildren, Bryan and Matthew Grigg, and Tawnya Shores, Lisa Gum, Doug Beck and Crystal Beck; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step-son, Jerry Young; two sisters, Mettie Sing and Mary West; one brother, Olen Shores; and a great grandchild.
