John Williamson
Ada-Services for John Henry Williamson, 93, of Ada, are 11:00 am Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Denney Cemetery.
Mr. Williamson died Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at his home. He was born December 2, 1922 in Francis to Charlie Amos and Bula Bell Lee Williamson.
He married Mabel Melissa Hawkins in Gainesville, TX on August 6, 1946. She preceded him in death on November 19, 1990. Mr. Williamson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He retired from the City of Ada Sanitation Department as a truck driver. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Dail and husband Steve of Ada and Debbie Scroggins of Ada; two sons, Roger Williamson and wife Edna of Ada and Dewayne Williamson of Ada; two sisters, Loeva Sipes of Shawnee and Clara McIntire of Ada; one brother, Melvin Williamson of Ada; one granddaughter, Becky Williamson of the home; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 17 great great-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Randy Williamson and Leslie Williamson; four sisters, Cassie Mae Cross, Rosa Hawkins, Betty McAlester and Mamie Matthis and one brother, Percy Williamson.
Bearers will be nephews.
