John Turner

John Ward Turner went to be with his Lord Monday, September 28, 2020, at his home in Ada, Oklahoma, with his wife at his side.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Seminole First Assembly. Interment will be at Lawson Cemetery in Yale, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.

Mr. Turner was born October 12, 1955, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to Joe Albert Turner and Norma Jean (Cobble) Turner. He married the love of his life, Lily Aliene Carpenter, on June 7, 1972. They remained at each other's side through 48 years of marriage. They made their home in Seminole, Oklahoma, where they raised their three daughters.

Mr. Turner enjoyed hunting wild game -- especially Rocky Mountain elk -- with his wife and hunting partner. He loved spending time with his grandkids, farming, and horseback riding. He was hardworking and provided for his family as a natural gas compression specialist, most recently with Enable Midstream Partners.

He is preceded in death by son, Johnny Lee Turner, parents, and brother Joe Alden Turner.

He is survived by his wife of the home, daughters Tina Turner of Ada, Talina Eaker and husband Rich, of Ada, and Taressa Bryan of West End, North Carolina; grandchildren Makayla Turner, Kylie Bryan, Turner Bryan, Bryce Dickenson, Ryan Eaker, and Alex Eaker. He is also survived by sisters Gayla Jean Seaton and husband Glen of Bixby, Oklahoma, Debra Ann Lemonds and husband Jack of Gravette, Arkansas, and Jeanette Prough of Cushing, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pall Bearers will be Rich Eaker, Jerry Dickenson, Rick Carpenter Jr., Dale Seaton, Jason Yelle, and Tony Yelle.

The family wishes to thank their friends at Humanity Hospice for the excellent care and love they provided to the family during this time.
