Services for John Leonard Kooy, 84, of Ada are 10:00am Friday, November 6 at Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church; Pastor Ron Gadbury will officiate. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery.

Mr. Kooy passed away November 3, 2026. He was born April 9, 1942 in Toppenish, WA to John and Cornelia “Cora” Dekker Kooy. He graduated from White Swan High School, and he lived west of Wapato, WA for the first 46 years of his life on a farm and ranch.

Mr. Kooy came to Oklahoma in 2016 to care for his sister, Lyzene Isaacs. He was a farmer/rancher. He raised sugar beets, wheat, hay and cattle. Mr. Kooy also did some security work.

Survivors are his nephew, Don Ide of Yakima, WA; niece, Donna Smith of Yakima, WA; and other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Harriet Ide and Lyzene Isaacs; and one nephew, Larry Perry.
