JOHN BRIGGS
HASKELL, TX-Services for John Royce Briggs, 81, Haskell, Texas, formerly of Ada, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Briggs died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at his home. He was born June 14, 1930, to Edgar Auod and Violet Charity Parker Briggs in Ada. He lived in Ada until moving to Haskell 34 years ago. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Coalgate, OK.
Mr. Briggs is survived by his wife, Syliva Rodriguez Briggs, Haskell; three sons, Dan Royce Briggs of Wichita Falls, TX, Michael Timothy Briggs of Pawhuska, OK, and Robert Dale Briggs of Burbank, OK; one daughter, Janise Louise Briggs of Weinert, TX; 11 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Phillip Duane Briggs and Trent Parker Briggs, both of Ada; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Violet Briggs; and his first wife, Wanda Sue Sharum Briggs.
If desired, memorials may be given in John Briggs' name to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford St., Abilene, TX 79605.
