Lester James (John) Braddock, 88, of Stonewall passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

He was born December 17, 1928 in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma to Luther and Dora Cozad Braddock. He attended Latta High School west of Ada. He served honorably in the U. S. Army during the Korean War from 1950-1951. After his discharge from the Army, he met and married his wife of 63 years. He spent his life living and working in Pontotoc County. He worked as a rancher and in oil services.

He is survived by his wife, Francis Snell Braddock, of the home; one sister, Dorthy Eager of Roff; daughter, Wanda Thomson, Merritt Island, FL; and a son, Kenneth Braddock, Midwest City. He was also blessed with nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; a son, David Braddock of Stonewall; and a grandson, Bobby Thomson, Merritt Island, FL.
