John Alvarado

Graveside services for John Claude Alvarado, 87, of Norman, are 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Alvarado passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Norman. He was born July 22, 1938, in Lamar, Colorado, to Frank and Jennie Chavez Alvarado.

On February 4, 1961, he married Betty Lou Johnson. Mr. Alvarado was a Postmaster and retired from the City of Fort Worth.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; children, Theresa Johnson and husband, Randy, Rob Alvarado and wife, Dawn, and Cheryl White and husband, Steve; three sisters, Patsy Klund, Charlotte Gonzalez and husband, Albert, and Josie Navarette; grandchildren, Deighton Barbee and husband, Trey, Skyler Alvarado and wife, Laura, Nicholas Cram, Adrian Bostic and wife, Nick, Tim Ferree and wife, Shelby, Ashleigh Banks and husband, Brian, Aaron White, and Rachel White; and great grandchildren, Laila Ferree, Turner Bostic, Bailey Banks, and Tabitha Alvarado.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, John Edward Alvarado.

Pallbearers are Bryan Johnson, Jared Johnson, Adam Johnson, and Richard Johnson.
