Joella Iles Borcherding went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2022 while in St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Joella was born to Barney Hale Iles and Mattie Hugh Latimer Iles in Overton, TX on October 2, 1946. She graduated from London High School in New London, TX in 1965 and married the love of her life Jack Louis Borcherding soon after on November 5th.

They relocated to the DFW area as Jack was starting his career at General Motors Corp. After the birth of their daughter Kelly, they moved to Carrollton, TX, where they resided for the next 38 years.

Joella began working for the Carrollton/Farmers Branch ISD in 1975. She worked in the office at Newman Smith High School, in the counselor's office at Blalack Junior High School, and ended her career in the District Administration Office. Joella loved getting to know her students and cherished the memories made over the years.

Above all else, Joella loved being with family. While still living in Carrollton, she and Jack enjoyed a second home in Ada, OK from 2004-2006. They permanently moved to Ada in the Fall of 2006 to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. Joella quickly made Ada her home, getting involved at First United Methodist Church of Ada and several activities. She was active in several groups including book club, a women's bible study, and was on the bereavement team at church.

Joella loved baking birthday cakes for family members. She was known to make more than one if she couldn't decide on the decorations. She enjoyed playing board games with her grandchildren, to whom she was Nana. She loved attending her grandchildren's activities from dance competitions to golf tournaments. She loved her friends and family fiercely. Her smile and laugh were so infectious and she showed kindness to everyone.

She was predeceased by her father Barney Hale Iles and mother Mattie Hugh Latimer Iles. Joella is survived by her husband of 57 years Jack Louis Borcherding, her daughter Kelly Crabtree & husband Adam Crabtree, three grandchildren Madee & husband Collin Short, Meredith McGill and Alex McGill. She is survived by her brothers Barney Ray Iles of Houston, TX and Charles "Buddy" Iles and wife JoAnn of Fort Worth, TX.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 1pm, at The First United Methodist Church of Ada, 129 W 14th St. Ada, OK 74820. Memorial donations may be designated to the FUMC of Ada bereavement funds in her honor.
