Joe Medlock passed away peacefully at age 86 on January 24, 2024 after a long and well-lived life.  Graveside services are scheduled at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 30 at Rosedale Cemetery, Danny Stewart and Kenny Mayfield will officiate.

Joe was born March 17, 1937, to Tom and Bonnie Medlock in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  After graduating high school at Roff, Oklahoma, Joe attended Abilene Christian University, Murray State College, East Central University, Central State University, and Oklahoma University.  He worked as a classroom teacher, certified school counselor, National Association of Secondary Principals Intern, Assistant Principal, principal, and superintendent.  His wife Linda, worked along side him as a school teacher, certified school counselor, and retired as a Director of Student Services at Pontotoc Technology Center.

Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and skeet and trap shooting.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Yvonne (Bonnie) Medlock and his father, Thomas (Tom) Wesley Medlock.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Medlock of Ada; his children, Cathleen and Russell Eaves of Ada, Mark Wesley Medlock of Ada; his grandchildren, Kenny and Suzanne Mayfield of Ada, Marissa and Tyler Mackey of Ada, Micah Wesley and Becca Medlock of Ada, Aaron Mark and Mary Medlock of Fort Worth, TX; and his great grandchildren, Rylee Medlock, Tessa Sallee, Andrew Medlock, Kase Mayfield, Beau Mayfield, MaKenna Renes, Joeli Mackey, and Evie Rae Mackey.

Joe was a member of the Church of Christ.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
