JOE HOOSER
WAPANUCKA-Services for Joe Allen Hooser, 75, Wapanucka, formerly of the Ada area are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Revs. Dean Stone and John Hooser will officiate. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery.
Mr. Hooser died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born May 27, 1936 in Ada, Oklahoma to Claude Vernon and Ina Ollie Brandon Hooser. He attended Pickett grade school and Vanoss High School and East Central University in Ada.
He married Maurice June Grissom on November 1, 1956 in Ada. Mr. Hooser was a cowboy, cowboy poet and horse-trainer, a salesman for Callahan's General Store in Cedar Park, Texas and a door-greeter at Wal-Mart. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1953 until 1956 during the Korean Conflict. He later served in the U.S. National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Maurice Hooser, of the home; his children, Pastor Michael Hooser and wife Miriam, Houston, TX, Toni Whitehead and husband Frank, Noble, Karla Morgan and husband Daryl, Wapanucka, Robin Craycraft and husband David, Perkins, Shawn Hooser and wife Robin, Ada, and Richard Warren and wife Misty, Melissa, TX; four brothers, Bobby Hooser and wife Clara, Ada, Tom Hooser and wife Beth, Ada, John Hooser and wife Mary Ellen, Arkansas, and Sam Hooser, Ada; two sisters, Eugenia Fincher, Brenham, TX and Judy Hooser, Ada; 25 grandbabies, Brooke Smith and husband Tyson, Samantha Hooser, Michael A. Hooser, Joseph A. Hooser, April Dismuke and husband David, Jana McCarthick and husband Drew, Gregory Chandler, Kasi Morgan, Joseph Weese, (he was a father figure to Joseph),Tyler Dodson, Corbin Craycraft, Rylee Craycraft, Cashtin Craycraft, Rickey Horton, Heather Hooser, Brandon Horton, Vanity Hooser, Britney Hooser, Alisah Horton, Nickey Horton, Rebeka Beavers and husband Greg, Ashley Caldwell, Ben Caldwell, Nathan Warner, and Caiti Warner; nine great grandbabies, Ty David Smith, Kolby and Kylie Dismuke, Taylan Horton, Braden Hooser, Isac Horton, Levi Beavers, Macy Beavers, and Rylee Caldwell; and numerous nieces, including Stacy Lenae Hooser, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Susie Q. Hooser and Virginia Broughan; and two brothers, Isham and Tinker Hooser.
Bearers will be Craig Rodgers, Nathan Warren, Tyler Dodson, Michael Hooser, Robert Moneypenny, Joseph Weese and Gregory Chandler. Honorary bearers will be Glen Caviness, Gary Shilling, David Dismuke, Drew McCarthick, Tyson Smith, Blaine Nelson and Ollie Medcalf.
