Services for Joe Alford Bradshaw, 84, of Fitzhugh, OK are scheduled for 10:00 Wednesday, February 20 at Trinity Baptist Church in Ada, OK. Steve Wilburn and Caleb Clary will be officiating. The family will receive friends at Criswell Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-7.
Joe passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019. He was born March 2, 1934 in Foyil, OK. He grew up in the Foyil area and graduated from High School in 1951.
First and foremost Joe was a man of faith in Jesus Christ, a man who loved his family and friends because he knew the God that loved him. Joe married the love of his life, Nancy Sue Smith on June 19, 1955 in Claremore, OK. Joe and Nancy moved to Fairview, OK and then moved to the Ada area in 1964. He was known as a devoted Husband, Daddy, Papa, Uncle, and Friend.
As a Christian, Joe was an active member of the Fitzhugh First Baptist Church. He served in roles including a deacon, Sunday School teacher and advocate for Jesus Christ and the church. He was always active in prayer for his church, family, friends, and neighbors.
In his community, he served as Mayor of Fitzhugh, and a member of the Rural Water District 8 Board.
Joe was a Manager for Feeder's Milling, Reeves Stockyard and feedlot, and a rancher in the Ada, Fitzhugh, and Connerville area for many years. In each of these roles, he was known as a hard worker who knew how to lead, weld, fabricate, pour and finish concrete, operate heavy equipment, mechanic, electrician, basically whatever it took.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy of the home, daughter Cheryl Clary and husband Irby of Ada, daughter Vicki Penner and husband Harris of Mill Creek; six (6) grandchildren, thirteen (13) great grandchildren, two sisters and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents G. E. (Gus) and Rebecca Victoria, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
