JOAN MARTIN
Services for Joan Patricia Martin, 61, of Ada, are 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at St Luke's Episcopal Church, Rev. John D. Norvell will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Martin died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born May 1, 1951 in Bay Shore, New York to Benjamin Joseph Kroupa and Stephania Barbara Stachnik Kroupa. She came to this area in 1969 to study drama at East Central University.

She married Jim Martin on June 14, 1991. Mrs. Martin was active in several retail businesses in Ada: The Clothes Corner, Monta Lou's and Shipe's Shoes. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she was active in Meals On Wheels and was also a member of the Tanti Study Club and P. E. O. She was an avid gardner.

Survivors include her husband, Jim, of the home; three daughters, Meredith and husband Jon Stephenson Jr., Hilary and husband Justin Jones, Scotti and husband Chris Edgar; three stepchildren, Debbra and husband Hicks Smith, Jim Martin and Kristi and husband Mike Byers; one sister, Marilyn Williams; one brother, Steven Kroupa; grandchildren, Ellee and Isabelle Edgar, Emorie and Tessa Jones, Estella and Jon Stephenson III, Kara Byers, Mark Byers, Avery Smith and wife Amy; three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jordan and Tyler Smith; and one nephew Justin Williams.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lori Smith.
