JO ANN RODGERS
ADA-Services for Jo Ann Rodgers, 82, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Ada, Rev. Derek Altom will officiate. Burial will follow at the Vamoosa Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rodgers died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her home. She was born May 1, 1931 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Roy "Babe" Doolen and Ruby Hudson Doolen. She graduated from Vamoosa, and attended East Central University.
She married William Wayne Rodgers on October 1, 1977 in Chatsworth, Georgia. She worked at the Byng School, Blue Bell, and Gibsons. She was also the head teller at First National Bank in Grapevine Texas. She was an active member of the First Free Will Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Rodgers of the home; her children, Mike Roddy of Ada, Denice Gilliam and husband Clifford of Ada, Tim Roddy and wife Andrea of DeSoto, Kansas, Shawn Roddy and wife Peggy of Castle Rock, Colorado, Kelly Roddy and wife Deanne of Georgetown, Texas, Renee Turvey and husband Mark of Durant, Shorty Rodgers and wife Missy of Antlers, Deborah Kay Meeks and husband Bobby Lee of Oklahoma City; a sister, Janice Ross and husband Jimmy of Pickett, 21 grandchildren, Shane Roddy, Tyler Roddy, Chad Smith, Joshua Gilliam, Misty Young, Bryan Roddy, Drew Roddy, Joshua Meeks, Nathan Meeks, Zachary Meeks, Mary Faye Rodgers, Trey Rodgers, Brook Rodgers, Heather Stephens, Jon Roddy, Lauren Roddy, Tanner Roddy, Avery Roddy, Amanda Henslee, Beth Ann Dennis, and Kerry Dawn Wyrick; 24 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jessie Doolen, AJ Doolen, Dean Doolen; three sisters, Naomi Davis, Mildred Lancaster, and Dealtha Stafford.
Bearers include her eight grandsons, Shane Roddy, Josh Gilliam, Tyler Roddy, Bryan Roddy, Drew Roddy, Jon Roddy, Tanner Roddy, and Chad Smith.
