Graveside services for Jo Ann Clark Little, 76, of Ada, OK are 10:00 AM Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. F.D. Cochran will officiate.

Jo Ann was born June 3, 1987 in Ada, Oklahoma to Cephus James Clark and Josephine Sewilla Clark.

She attended Napier Elementary school, Byng School, Ada, OK, Gallup High School, Gallup NM, Langston University, Langston, OK where she earned degrees in History and Education, she continued her education by earning her Master's Degree in Counseling at San Diego State University. Jo Ann held administration, additional counseling and teaching credentials as well.

Jo Ann was not new to the state of New Mexico due to her mother having the opportunity to teach on the Navajo Indian reservation of Church Rock / Tohatchi. Jo Ann also had a love for teaching and began her career in the San Diego Unified School district in 1971. After living in San Diego for many years she relocated to the Los Angeles area and continued her career in administration and counseling at Lynwood High School and was even instrumental in pioneering Pathway High School. Jo Ann later retired from Lynwood Unified School district to care for her mother in Ada, Oklahoma after over 35 years of service.

Jo Ann was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated in 1969 at Langston University, Alpha Zeta Chapter in Langston, Oklahoma. She joined the Graduate chapter of Theta Alpha Omega in Long Beach, CA and after moving to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, transferred into the Iota Xi Omega Chapter.  Jo Ann holds the honor of being a Golden Soror with a membership of over 50 years.

During graduate school Jo Ann met and soon joined in union to Roy E Little. From this union she had two beautiful children, LaRoyce Avery Little and JoEtta AnnMarie Little.

Jo Ann was kind, compassionate and thoughtful. She was known for her seasonal greeting cards as a reminder to those she loved that she was always thinking of them.

Jo Ann loved to read, could do sudoku on the highest level, enjoyed traveling with her Sorority Sister's and had a great passion for genealogy and uncovering her family history. She enjoyed looking after her plants, talking on the phone with her cherished friends. Watching old western shows would be her go to for her evening programming along with bites of peach cobbler and vanilla Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Jo Ann was always generous and is also remembered for her random acts of kindness to people known and unknown. She had an eye for interior design, loved nice dinnerware, silverware, furniture, blankets, scarves.... Oh and you should know she absolutely loved tomatoes!

Jo Ann Clark Little was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 11, 2024 with family by her side. She is survived by two children, LaRoyce Avery Little (Melissa), San Diego, CA, JoEtta AnnMarie Little (Jeramy), Norwalk, CA: Grandchildren in Love Alyssa Goodwin (Breanna), Ella Durant Goodwin, San Diego, CA; Siblings Tommy Joe Clark (Dorothy), San Diego CA, Lanora Ann Clark, San Diego, CA. Jo Ann leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cephus James Clark and Josephine Sewilla Clark of Ada, Oklahoma.  Grand Parents, Joe and Della Carson, Georgia and Doug Clark.
