Jimmy Lee
Tignor
November 18, 1955 – October 31, 2021
Jimmy Tignor
Jimmy Lee Tignor was born on November 18, 1955 in Durant, OK to James Wesley and Marylu Ethel (Davison) Tignor. He attended school in Durant through graduation in 1974, followed by attending both Eastern and Southeastern State Colleges to play baseball. After college Jimmy embarked upon a career in construction, began his family with two beautiful children, and later returned to Grayson College to earn his nursing degree.
Eventually settling near Ada, Jimmy spent 22 years devoted to serving the Chickasaw Nation through roles as a staff nurse, surgery manager, and as the executive officer in charge of support services for the health facilities. In 2012 Jimmy added two more children to love when he married his soulmate, who remained devotedly by his side through all life's adventures and was holding his hand as he took his last breath on earth the night of October 31, 2021 at his home in Stonewall.
Jimmy loved music, picking his guitar, traveling, campfires, OU football, smoking meat, watching his chickens, fishing, being outdoors, spending time with family, and helping others. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the praise and worship team at Harmony Freewill Baptist church. Jimmy was loved by all who had the pleasure to know him and he always had a smile, hug, or encouraging word to share with friends and strangers alike. You always walked away from Jimmy feeling just a little bit better about yourself and the world was a brighter place with him in it. Jimmy would want his legacy to be for each of you to be good to others and continue spreading love in his honor.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Ralania (Fisher) Tignor of the home; his children: Jennifer (Tignor) Goodwin and husband JC of Ada, Jimmy "Bub" Tignor II and wife Courtney of Knoxville TN, Emily Anderson of Stonewall, and Dalton Anderson of Stonewall; grandchildren: Kaleb Goodwin, Max Tignor, Sofie Tignor, Cameron Goodwin, Madeline Tignor, and Jacob Tignor; mother, Marylu, of Fort Gibson; sisters: Rita (Tignor) Schreier and husband Bill of Mead and Marilyn Dewoody and husband Bob of Fort Gibson; a whole host of nieces and nephews; and many great friends, including his very special friend and music partner Tom Schultz.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, JW, and his sister, Sandra Patterson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Chickasaw Nation for their overwhelming support, the Mercy Cancer Center staff for their care, and Halo Hospice for their compassion.
Jimmy's celebration of life will be at the Chickasaw Community Center in Ada on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 1 pm with Brother Bob Dewoody officiating. Consider wearing a bandana or the color red if attending the service.
