Jimmy Reed

Memorial services for Jimmy Ray Reed, 78, of Austin, TX are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Reed passed away November 24, 2024, in Austin, TX.  He was born on July 9, 1946, in Ada, OK to Troy and Bernice Johnson Reed.

He graduated from Stonewall High School in 1964 and then attended East Central University, graduating in 1968 with a bachelor's of science majoring in chemistry.  He worked for Texas Instruments for over 20 years in the circuit board production department.  He loved his job.  He worked at other places before and after but TI was his home.

He always enjoyed fishing and was disappointed his kids weren't more interested.  Susan always named the minnows and Mason caught the tech bug early.

Survivors include his brother, Donald Reed; sister-in-law, Margaret; and his two children, Mason and Susan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Georgia Mason Reed.
