Obituary

Jimmy F. Price, Sr., was born March 4, 1940, to John Walter Price and Mary Corene Davis Price at their home in Happyland, OK. The family moved into Ada when Jim was three years old. He attended schools in Ada and graduated from Ada High School in 1958. While attending high school, he joined the OK National Guard at age 16, serving for one and a half years with the 45th Division. He also played on the Ada High Golf Team. Following graduation from high school, Price joined the U.S. Navy. He served for three years in the Navy Security Group on the island of Guam before being honorably discharged. After returning to Ada, Mr. Price became a successful businessman who owned D-C Ignition, Co., in Ada with his brother, Walt, from 1968-2000.

Jim's life of entrepreneurship began at the age of ten when he sold peanuts and popcorn at the Ada Hereford's semi-pro baseball games. By the age of 11, he was selling newspapers on the streets downtown. At 12, Jim was setting bowling pins at night at the Strike & Spare bowling alley for five cents a lane. From age 12-18, Jim made his money caddying at the Oak Hills Country Club, making $3.00 for 18 holes.
On October 9, 1976, Jim married Brenda Ashlock Price at the Ada Church of the Nazarene where they attended for several years. A devoted Christian, Mr. Price was a charter member of Victory Life Fellowship (now The Refuge), remaining active in his church for 33 years. Jim's life was marked by a very strong work ethic, service to others, and a profound love for God and his family.

Jim Price is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda Price. Also surviving him are his son, Jimmy "Pete" Price, Jr., and daughters Stacy Rogers, and Stacy Pendergraft.
