JIM TILLEY

SAND SPRINGS, OK-Services for Jimmy R. Tilley, 76, Sand Springs, are 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Criswell Chapel, Rev. Frank Trent officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will perform military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Tilley died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at a Tulsa care center. He was born September 3, 1933, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Walker and Maude Rose Tilley. He attended Glenwood School in Ada before moving to Oklahoma City and attending Capitol Hill High School. He retired as an apprentice butcher and also worked as a service manager at an auto dealership. He served in the U. S. Navy from July 1951 until July 1959. He received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Smith, Stockton, California; Pamela Jean Foreman-Rodriguez, Stockton, California; and Nannette Lynne Houston, Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one step-son, Michael Elliott, Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one sister, Betty Flippo, Tulsa, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker and Maude Tilley; five wives, Norma, Fay, Maxine, Verna and Pauline; three brothers, Dewey, Rob, and Jack; and five sisters, Evelyn, Wanda, Mary Murryel, Edna and Edith.

Bearers are Cody Houston, Sam Houston, Joshua Baker, Mickey Williams, Tyler Purvis and Ron Stimmer. Honorary bearers are Rion Willingham, Juan Rodriguez, Brennon Cossey-Turner and Michael Elliott.
