DEL CITY-Services for Jewell Kathryn Cranford, 82, Del City, formerly of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. John Haynes will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Cranford died Sunday, October 16, 2011 at a Del City nursing home. She was born January 17, 1929 in the Pecan Grove Community, south of Ada to Everett and Jewell Dew Bowers. She attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School.
She married Doyle Cranford on April 3, 1961. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2001. Mrs. Cranford was employed at Gibson's Discount Store and later was the head cashier at Wal-Mart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Charlie Golightly and his wife Stacey of Ada, David Golightly and his wife Robin of Windsor, Conn., and Larry Cranford and his wife Donna of Midwest City; two brothers, Lloyd Bowers of Ardmore, and Don Bowers and his wife Charlene of Ada; one sister, Neva Jo Stewart and her husband Bobby of Connerville; her grandchildren, Kari Brown, Lindsey Laxton, Lacey Golightly, Chase Golightly, Meagan Golightly, Lauren Cranford, and Taylor Cranford; and a great grandchildren, Jake Laxton and Logan Golightly.
Bearers will be Derick Bowers, Chad Bowers, Mike Stewart, Hart Brown, Jody Murray and Mark Kedy.
