JERRY SIMS
ADA-Graveside services for Jerry Don Sims, 60, Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Floyd Kaiser will officiate.
Mr. Sims died Friday, February 29, 2008 at his home. He was born February 6, 1948 at Ada, Oklahoma to Archie A. and Nellie Clark Sims. He graduated from Ada High School, and received a Bachelor's degree and two Master's degrees from East Central University.
He married Patrecia Carol Bartee on December 25, 1988 in Ada, Oklahoma. Mr. Sims was a teacher for the McLoud School System for 21 years. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ, Sigma Tau Fraternity, and Monuments Band.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Sims, of the home; three daughters, Sandy Sliger, Ada, Kelly Poole, Wichita, KS, and Melodie Blurton, Las Vegas, NV; a grandson whom he reared, Kyle Havel, Wichita, KS; and several other grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James A. Sims, and a sister, Susan Whelchel.
Bearers will be Terry Bell, Danny Clemmons, Eddie Ferguson, Jerry Duncan, John Howard, and Jeff Low.
