Jerry Self

Jerry Wayne Self, 84, of Ada, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, at his home. He was born December 13, 1941, in Alex, Oklahoma to LC and Ruby Mae Powell Self.

On July 20, 1962, he married Juanita Jo Bottoms. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2018. He was a Tank Truck Driver and welder until his retirement.

Jerry grew up working hard on the family's farm on the outskirts of Lindsay. His most memorable (and unpleasant job) was working in the broomcorn fields with his siblings. He was always outside working, tinkering or fishing and loved summer fishing trips to Lake Texoma with his dad and brothers. He loved his family (grandkids mostly) and his eyes always lit up when they came to see him.

He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. We will miss him dearly and look forward to seeing him and mom again. We are so thankful for all the years we had with him and cherish those memories.

Survivors include his two sons, John Self and wife, Audra, of Ada, and James Self, of Nebraska; one daughter, LeAnn Barnes and husband, Richard, of Roff; two brothers, Billy Self, of Noble, and Mike Self, of Pauls Valley; two sisters, Ruth Flesher, of Hennessey, OK, and Debbie Robnett, of Norman; eight grandchildren, Lacy, Cody, Derrick, Stephanie, Samantha, Christian, Kyile, and Lanae; 20 great grandchildren, Katyn, Jacee, Lori, Khloe, Bella, Alayna, Dom, Arlo, Chase, Colson, Felicity, Zaiden, Prudence, Pyper, Immanuel, Aiden, Ava, Bentley, Baylor, and Nova; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; parents, LC and Ruby Self; son, Marty; daughter, Angie; granddaughter, Madison; sister, Helen Hearon; and brother, Jesse Self.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
