JERRY MEYERS
FRANCIS-Services for Jerry Williams Meyers, Jr., 66, of Francis are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Lynn Bartgis will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Meyers died Monday, February 10, 2014. He was born January 14, 1948 at Miami, Oklahoma to Jerry W. Meyers and Pauline Anderson Meyers. He attended grade school in Lawton. He and his family moved to Ada in 1959 and he graduated from Ada High School.
He married Linda Diane Yeager on November 23, 1983 in Denton, TX. Mr. Meyers was a race car mechanic, worked in the oilfield as a mechanic, in the construction field and also drove a race car. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Ada and had served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He attended flight school while in the Army, was a helicopter pilot and mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Meyers, of the home; three daughters, Ginne Meyers of Chicago, IL, Tammy Boren and husband Charlie of Ada, and Kristy Fulton and husband Bruce of Shawnee; his mother-in-law, Ann Yeager of Ada; a sister, Judy Bartgis and her husband Rev. Lynn Bartgis of Vinita; a brother-in-law, Wayne Crampton of Catoosa; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Atkeson, Kacee Boren, Kali Fulton and Gracie Fulton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Bill Ross, Roy Ross, Glen Wilson, Bruce Fulton, Rodney Haynes and Brian Beavers.
