Services for Jerald LaVert Morris, 74, formerly of Ada will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel; Rev. Allen R. Threatt III, pastor of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Arcadia, OK will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Jerald LaVert Morris was born in Ada, Oklahoma on January 8, 1952. He was reared in the Hammond Heights Addition in a loving home, under the watchful eyes of his doting paternal grandparents, Simon and Ruth Conway Morris. He united with Ada's historic Philemon Baptist Church at an early age. Following his 1970 graduation from Byng High School, LaVert enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during the height of the VietNam War. Following his military service, LaVert relocated to Denver, Colorado where he resided until his untimely death on Friday, January 23, 2026.

In addition to both his paternal and maternal grandparents, LaVert was preceded in death by his parents: Billie Jean Frazier Morgan (1980) and Theodore "Ted" Morris (2016). He was also preceded in death by his brother, Rick Morgan.

LaVert will be lovingly remembered by his son, Smithy DeWayne Morris and daughter- in-love, Amber Mack Morris, of Norman, OK, his grandchildren, and his siblings: brother, Victor Morgan and sister, Karen Morgan both of Oklahoma City, Beverly Morgan (Hillburn, NY), Sherri Hand (Alabama), Pamela Simmons (Kansas), Anna Marmlind (Tullinge, Sweden), and Ericka Morris and her son, Eric Sean Wilson of Oklahoma City, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers are Dylan Mack, Marcus Mack, Richard Miller, Antonio DeWayne Morris, Michael Wafford, and Eric Sean Wilson.
