ADA-Services for Jerald Wesley Ely, 73, Ada, are 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Criswell Chapel, Rev. Jerry Wells officiating. Burial follows at Ashland Cemetery.
Mr. Ely died on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at a Shawnee hospital. He was born December 9, 1937, in Ashland to John and Ruby Hester Ely. He graduated from Ada High School and attended East Central University. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era, and retired in 1999 from Thompson Book Store in Edmond and Oklahoma City as a warehouse manager. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a sister, Patsy Raper and husband Wendell, Ada; nephews, Mark Raper and wife Kelly, Broken Arrow; and Chris Raper and wife Carmen, Wynnewood; great nieces and nephews, Caleb, Nathanael, Luke, Colton, Hannah, and Jade. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Etheleen Ely.
Bearers will be his nephews, and Joe Murray and Joe Lee Walker.
