Services for Jeffery D. Crosby, 55, of Ada will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Ada, Rev. Zac Christian, Tyson Brown and Rev. Harold Ware will officiate.
Mr. Crosby passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at his home. He was born September 10, 1962 in Holdenville to Jep and Willa Dean Frump Crosby. He attended Park View Elementary in Holdenville and graduated from Holdenville High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from East Central University and also an Advance Law Enforcement Certification from CLEET.
He married Amanda Elaine Lotter July 20, 2012. Jeff served in Law Enforcement from the age of 18 when he worked as a dispatcher at the Holdenville Police Department. On September 1, 1981, he accepted a job as a Police Officer at Wewoka Police Department. From March 15, 1983 to April 18, 1983, he was a Police Officer at Holdenville Police Department. He then moved to Pauls Valley Police Department from July 12, 1983 to February 1986. He then accepted a position with the Ada Police Department, and established the Crimestopper's Program. He was promoted to detective on September 8, 1987, two days shy of his 25 th birthday. In 1995, he was promoted to Seargent, then Captain in 1996. From February 2004 to March 2005, he took a leave of absence to serve as Police Advisor to Iraqi Police for the U. S. State Department.
Upon his return in March 2005, he resumed his duties as Police Captain until December 2011 at which point he became Assistant Police Chief. On September 26, 2015 he retired from law enforcement and accepted a position as Public Safety Director. Jeff was a member of the H2O Church in Ada.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda, of the home; his sons, Tyler Crosby and wife Rose and Logan Crosby, all of Ada; a daughter, Mackenzee Crosby of Ada; his grandsons, Reagan Crosby and Remington Etier; step-daughter, Jessica Lotter of Ada; step-son, Paul Lotter, Jr and wife Kayla of Ada; a sister, Sharon Bell of Ada; niece, Shelley Bell Ridley; nephew, Jason Ridley; and great-niece, Crosby Ridley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jep and Willa Dean Crosby.
Honorary bearers will be Tommy Cosper, Dave Musgrave, Tracy Jackson, Mickey Ballard, Mike Miller, Billy Ward, Joe Tabaei and Steven Walkup.
