Services for Lyda Jean Prater, 97, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel; Chaplain Susan Ayers will officiate.  Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Prater passed away January 6, 2025, in Perkins.  She was born July 12, 1927 at Ada to Tom and Tishie McFarland Ross.

She married Jesse Worden Prater in 1946 in Oklahoma City.  She was an elementary teacher at Sasakwa and Tupelo until her retirement.

Mrs. Prater is survived by her son, Jess Prater and wife Susan of Stillwater; daughter, Crystal Ganzer and husband Steve of New Market, MD; sister, Deloris Agee and husband Thomas; three grandchildren, Gretchen Krause, Adolph Prater and Alexis Prater; six great-grandchildren, Caidyn Krause, Elsi Prater, Jackson Krause, Juliana Krause, Elica Prater, and Elee Prater.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Wes Prater; and brother, Gwendell Ross.

Bearers will be Jesus DeHoyos and and Jackson Henry Krause.  Honorary bearers will be Adolph Prater, Benjamin Krause and Roger Prater.
