JAY WALTON, JR.
ADA-Services for Jay D. Walton, Jr., 64, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2007 at the Union Valley Baptist Church, Rev. Randall Christy will officiate. Burial will follow at High Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Walton died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born July 24, 1943 in Ada, Oklahoma to Jay D. Walton, Sr. and Martha Driskill Walton. He lived in Houston, Texas for number of years and graduated from Milby High School in Houston. Mr. Walton moved back to this area and lived here most of his life. He attended East Central University for four years, studying psychology. He married LaVera L. Hanks on December 29, 1992. Mr. Walton previously was employed with General Tire Company, Solo Cup Company of Ada, the Chickasaw Nation, Case Tractor, and previously, he was the owner and operator of Pest Management Company. Mr. Walton was a member of High Hill Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Marine Corps in the 1960's.
Survivors include his wife, LaVera Walton, of the home; two sons, Steve Walton and wife Tammy, Ada, and Jay D. Walton, III, Ada; two daughters, Krystal Walton, and her husband, Aaron Harrison, Fittstown, and Lisa Steadman and husband Ronald, Killeen, Texas; four step-sons, Christopher Borges, Byng, Sargeant Shannon D. Hanks, Ft. Riley, Kansas, Kenneth Hanks, Byng, and Billy Jenkins and wife Holly, Oakman; a step-daughter, Adrian Jenkins Sutton and husband Ernie, Ada; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandson; and one brother Larson Walton and wife Nannette, Ada; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Pat Walton.
Bearers will be Gene Anglin, Martin Wright, John Hawkins, Bob Knight, Jason Ferris and Tommy Lyda.
Honorary bearers will be Ernie Frazier, Dennis Williams and Tommy Cooper.
