IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janis
Walker
April 3, 1941 – August 5, 2025
Janis Walker
Services for Janis Carrol Walker, 84, of Ada will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Central Church of Christ; Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home.
Janis was born in Ada on April 3, 1941 to Lee Violet and Robbie Lucille Gregg. She passed away at her home Tuesday, August 5, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary. On October 10, 1959, Janis married Jerry Allen Walker. They were wed for 64 years at the time of his passing, July 14, 2024.
Survivors include her two daughters, Felicia Whitworth and husband Barry of Ada and Cindy Current and husband Brian of Arkansas City, KS; six grandchildren, Tarah, Dori, Lauren, Madison, Walker, and Cheyene; and six great grandchildren, Raigan, Tatum, Jolie, Jerriven, Aurora, and Henry.
Mrs. Walker was a faithful member of the Central Church of Christ where children there knew her as the "popcorn lady". Many in the community knew her as the "cake lady" because she made birthday and wedding cakes for over 20 years. However, Janis should be best known in the community as the "Christmas lady" because she was the creative force behind the magical North Pole display found on Collins Blvd for 44 years. Janis Walker had a servant's heart and will be missed.
