JANIS KNICKMEYER
ADA-Graveside services for Janis L. Knickmeyer, 62, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Rosedale Cemetery, Father John D. Norvell will officiate.
Mrs. Knickmeyer died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at a local hospital. She was born November 6, 1950 at Ada, Oklahoma to Leslie B. and Patricia Lyons Younger. She graduated from Ada High School and attended East Central University and the University of Oklahoma. While she was a student at OU, she was the editor of the Oklahoma Daily.
She married Steve Knickmeyer on March 15, 1980. Mrs. Knickmeyer was a journalist for the Ada News, the Daily Oklahoman, the Frisco Enterprise in Frisco, TX, and the Sentinel-Record in Hot Springs, AR. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Knickmeyer, of the home; three sons, Ragan Knickmeyer of Vanoss, Steven Knickmeyer and Alan Knickmeyer, both of Phoenix, AZ; her mother, Patricia Younger of Ada; a sister, Cara Black of Norman, OK; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie B. Younger.
