Memorial services are planned at a later date for Janie Rita Turney, 78, of Stonewall.

Ms. Turney passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at an Ada hospital. She was born November 29, 1944 at Sterling, Oklahoma to Arvle Rueben and Gertrude Susan Summers Adkins. Ms. Turney worked as a Customer Service Manager at Walmart until her retirement.

Survivors include her son, Kevin Turney of Ada; daughter, Kim Turney, Stillwater; a special daughter, Sherry Cole of Stillwater; two brothers, Arvle Adkins, Jr. and Dwain Adkins, both of Duncan; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and four sisters, Pauline Oakley, Opal Bohreer, Mary Kelly, Gladys Clemons.
