Janet Myers

Memorial services for Janet Yvonne Myers, 76, of Ada will be 10:00 a.m. September 3, 2022 at the Ada Church of the Nazarene, Rev. Brian Smith and Rev. Stephen Nation will officiate.

Mrs. Myers died Thursday, August 18, 2022 at her home.  She was born October 14, 1945 in Ada to Calvin and Elba Jeanne Cox Norwood. She graduated from Ada High School.

She married Arvie Ray Myers on September 12, 1964 at the Ada Church of the Nazarene by W.E. Chandler. They were happily married for 57 years. Mrs. Myers was employed for Getty Oil and later retired from East Central University Business Office after 24 years. She has also been a member of the Ada Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years, and the church treasurer for many years.

Janet had a passion for singing. She was a great soprano who sang in the church choir, had many solos, and even sang for some funerals.  She was a Godly mother, who loved and prayed for her family and church family.

Survivors include her husband, Arvie Myers, of the home; daughter, Mandy Martin and husband Jason of Conway, AR; two grandsons, Jantz Martin and Kason Martin, Conway, AR; brother, Gary Norwood, Spring, TX; Uncle, George Miller, Okla. City, OK; and a multitude of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
