A Celebration of Life for Janease Elena (Jan) Hudson, 76, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church, Rev. Coy Howry will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hudson passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 in Shell, Ecuador, while visiting with their grandson. She was born December 15, 1942 in Ada to Dale Morris and Geneva Nease Deering. She attended Washington and Ada Grade Schools and graduated from Ada High School. She graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
She married Kenneth D. (Ken) Hudson January 27, 1961 in Ada. Mrs. Hudson was an Elementary School Teacher for the Byng School System, retiring in 1999. Mrs. Hudson was a member of Lovelady Baptist Church and had previously been active at the First Baptist Church, Ada and also Trinity Baptist Church, Ada. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Camp Director for many years and was a Volunteer Activities Director at an assisted living center in Ada.
Survivors include her husband, Ken, of the home; her children, Laura Hill, Ada, Ken Hudson, Jr. and wife Rita, Colleyville (TX), and Lisa Souza and husband Alex, Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, Melissa (Missy) McQuillen and husband Ryan, Derek Hill and wife Cameron, Loagan, Reagan, and Braedan Hudson, Staci Elizondo and husband Michael, Michael Elizabeth Ellis, Marcos Souza and wife Madison, and Emily Souza; thirteen great-grandchildren, Chloé, Ainsley, Paix, Anthony, Elias, Josiah, Major, Zoe, Hudson, Clara, Sybil, Myles, and Baylee; and siblings, David Deering and wife Debbie, Francis Atkisson and husband Jim, Myles Deering and wife Pam and Brad Deering and wife Renee; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special family friend Ashley Butler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Henry and Lou Hudson; and niece and nephew, Mendy Atkisson and Brandon Atkisson.
Honorary bearers will be her grandsons.
In honor of Jan, and per her wishes, those attending the service, please wear joyful colors.
