LEON WHITE

ADA-Services for James Leon White, 77, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Chapel, Rev. Jess McDowell officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. White died on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at a Shawnee hospital. He was born October 20, 1931, at Geary, Oklahoma, to Lawrence and Attie Mae Houston White. He attended school in Sequoyah County, and moved to Ada in 1960 from California. He was a jockey and horse trainer, and later worked at Evergreen Mills.

He married Joy Wyche on August 26, 1974.

Survivors include his wife, Joy White, of the home; a daughter, Attie Lane White and Robert Whittington, Ada; a son, Kenneth Abbott, Broken Arrow; two sisters, Clara Ruth Walker, Wichita, Kansas, and Dora Lee, Vian; four brothers, Carl White, Muldrow; Bob White, Moore; Mack White, Sallisaw; and L. A. "Duck" White, Vian; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann
White.

Bearers are Jim Morgan, Jimmy Morgan, Lee George, John "Brownie" Hilton, Kyle Shannon and Donnie Meeks. Honorary bearers are O'Dell Deaton and Robert Whittington.
