TWINK HARRISON
FRANCIS-Graveside services for James Carlos "Twink" Harrison, 80, of Francis are 1:00 p.m. Friday at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis, Rev. Steve DeShazo will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Harrison died Monday, January 7, 2013 at a local hospital. He was born October 18, 1932 in Francis, Oklahoma to James Leslie and Florita Norisa Davis Harrison. He attended Francis schools and graduated from Francis High School in 1952. He also received an associate degree from Okmulgee Tech.
He married Katie Marie Teer on February 7, 1955 in Conroe, Texas. Mr. Harrison was employed with Doner's Hardware in Konawa as an appliance repairman, retiring after 30 years of service. He worked out of his home after his retirement. Mr. Harrison was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved playing dominoes on Tuesday's at the cabin on the river.
Survivors include his wife, Katie Harrison, of the home; two daughters, Karen Cochran and husband Greg of Ada, and Alisa Ross of Fairland; a sister, Clara Stuart of Wichita, KS; two brothers, Charles Leslie "Sam" Harrison of Francis and Davis Ray Harrison of Francis; six grandchildren, Kristi Hood and husband Kevin, Ada, Aaron Ross, Ada, Kenton Tyler, Yukon, Lindsay Ross, Clayton, Brad Cochran and wife Stephanie, Ada, and Ashleigh Cochran, Ada; six great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Helen Harrison.
Bearers will be Aaron Ross, Brad Cochran, Kenton Tyler, Tony Gonzalez, Justin Jackson, and Kevin Hood. Honorary bearers will be Jim Cates, Clifton Ellis, Durwin Horton, Gerald Jackson, Mark Jenkins, Charlie Malay, James McDaniel, Dewey McDonald, Darrell Phillips, Bill Ross and Carl Wade.
