JAMES ROBBINS, JR.

ADA – Memorial services for James Rupert Robbins, Jr., 56, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church. Gary Skaggs will officiate.

Mr. Robbins died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at a local nursing home. He was born October 10, 1955 at Ada, Oklahoma to James Rupert Robbins, Sr. and Anita Jane Boiles Robbins. He graduated from Ada High School in 1973 and East Central University with a degree in Music and History.

He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity serving as president of Gamma Xi Chapter and Director of the Tar Heel Domain in North Carolina. Mr. Robbins served as representative and president of the East Central University Student Senate and was awarded a Rotary International Fellowship to pursue graduate studies at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England.

Mr. Robbins was employed at Pre-Paid Legal Services and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir and served as a session committee member.

Survivors include his mother, Anita Robbins of Ada; two brothers, Russell Robbins and wife Jeanie of Eufaula, AL, and Chris Robbins and wife Anna of Shawnee; a sister, Deanna Compton of Ada; his nieces and nephews, Rachel, Jessica, and David Robbins; Susannah Compton and husband Sam Leonard; Miles Compton and wife Terra Vaughn; Nathan Compton; Madison Robbins Guest and husband Cory; and Jake and Ciara Robbins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Rupert Robbins, Sr.
