ORVAL BALLARD
ADA-Services for James Orval Ballard, 97, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Asbury United Methodist Church, Rev. Don Griffin will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Ballard died Friday, January 15, 2010 at his home. He was born January 27, 1912 in the Jones Chapel Community, west of Ada, Oklahoma to James Curry and Lillie Mae Dunham Ballard. He lived in this area all his life and attended Jones Chapel school and Vanoss High School.
He married Lorene Roddy on December 24, 1938. Mr. Ballard was an auto mechanic and salesman at Ada Implement Company for many years and a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Ballard, of the home; two sons, Jim Ballard and wife Nyta, Ada, and Jerry Ballard and wife Vickie, Ada; two daughters, Anita Arbabi and husband Houshang, Ada, and Sue Russ and husband Alvin, Stratford; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Andrew Ballard; and two sisters, Rose Nolen and Myrtle Ballard.
Bearers will be Alan Arbabi, Roger Arbabi, Aaron Russ, Steve Russ, Alvin Russ, and Houshang Arbabi.
