James Raymond McCraw, age 86, and a resident of Konawa, OK, passed away from his earthly life, Friday June 12, 2020 in his home in Konawa, OK. A graveside service will be on 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18 th at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, which is four miles west of Konawa. Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B will officiate.
James was born to James Edward McCraw & Laura (Lehman) McCraw. After completing High School, James enlisted in the United States Navy where he did twenty-two years as a GMTC (E-7). After retirement from the United States Navy, James also worked and retired from the Oilfield Industry after more than twenty years. He married Lynda (Irby) McCraw on February 16, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa. He was also a member of the American Legion Post in Konawa.
He is survived by his wife Lynda McCraw of the home; three daughters, Cynthia (McCraw ) Raimer of Konawa, Janet (McCraw) Chance and husband Darryel of Sparks, Oklahoma, and Judy McCraw of Konawa, Oklahoma; three adopted daughters; Anita (McCraw) Neal and husband Mark of Konawa, Erica (McCraw) Worcester and husband Andy of Ada, Oklahoma, and Chelsea (McCraw) Danner and husband Jerrod of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Corie Carpenter of Edmond, Skye Ferrell and husband Derek of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Glen McCraw, Jerry McCraw both of Konawa and Dean "Dink" McCraw of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two sisters, Geneva (McCraw) Heskett and husband Delbert of Dallas, Texas and Carolyn "Cookie" (McCraw) Bassett and husband Robert of Maud, Oklahoma; four great-granddaughters, six great-grandsons, and two great grandsons on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Laura McCraw; brother Emmit McCraw; and a special uncle Jack McCraw.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a small donation in memory of Jimmy Ray can be made to the American Alzheimer's Association
