JIM WRIGHT
ADA-Services for James Herrell "Jim" Wright, Sr., 90, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Wright died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at a local hospital. He was born November 17, 1919 at Elmore City, Oklahoma to James Marcus and Lela Leon Eddings Wright. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1938.
He married Vera Lee Hunsucker on August 16, 1942. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2003. Mr. Wright and his family moved to Ada in 1947 from Sulphur. He was a painter for many years, of the Christian faith, a life member of the D.A.V. and was an active participant of the Ada Nutrition Center at Irving. He was an avid walker taking walks on Mississippi Street almost every day. Mr. Wright served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Jim Wright, Jr. and wife Marylyn, Union Valley; three grandchildren, Jim Wright, III, Union Valley, Kimberly Godrey, Texarkana, TX, and Marcus Wright and wife Samantha, Konawa; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Pat Bertoldi and husband John, Carlsbad, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be the Chickasaw Honor Guard.
