JIM GREENLEE
Nacogdoches, TX-Services for James Denton Greenlee, 81, formerly of Stonewall, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Mr. Greenlee died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at a hospital in Nacogdoches, TX. He was born May 31, 1933 in Ada, Oklahoma to Robert Harlan and Margaret Gibson Greenlee. He graduated from Stonewall High School in 1951.
He attended East Central University and University of Tulsa. Mr. Greenlee served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve until retirement and the Air National Guard. In 1970, he began flying C-130 A Hercules in the 137th Air National Guard in Oklahoma City. About 1980, he transferred to the 219th Installation Department and in 1982 transferred to the 219th Engineering Department. He retired in 1990. Mr. Greenlee served as an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troops 935 and 940 in Broken Arrow. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 931 in Newcastle and Post Leader of Explorer Post 219 in Tulsa.
He married Frankie Lou Elmore in October 1956. He later married Gloria Faust in 1987. He and his wife moved to Wyoming in August 1992. They later moved near San Antonio, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; two sons, James Greenlee and wife Janet of Cypress, TX and Kelly Joe Greenlee and wife Judy of Ft. Worth, TX; a step-daughter, Judy Abbott and husband Ralph LaRue of Nacogdoches, TX; a step-son, John Abbott and wife Sara of Harlingen, TX; sister, Jane Shoemake of Tulsa; half-brother, Robert Harlan Greenlee and wife Lynne of Albuquerque, NM; his grandchildren, Matthew, Julia, Laura, Greg and James; great grandchild, Ezra Dale Farris; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a step-son, James Abbott, Jr.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to any veteran or scouting organization.
