Obituary

Dr. James Noah Hall III "Tripp"

Dr. James Noah Hall III "Tripp," age 67, of Elk City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, surrounded by family.

Tripp was a loving father and brother whose warmth, humor, and presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was born September 23, 1958, in Purcell, Oklahoma, the son of James N. Hall Jr. and Patricia C. (Murray) Hall.

The family moved to Ada in 1961, where Tripp attended Hayes Elementary School and later graduated from Ada High School in 1976. He was a wrestler and a talented artist in his younger and high school years. After high school, Tripp attended East Central University and worked on the family ranch while completing his bachelor's degree and pre-medical coursework. He became an EMT and later a paramedic, working for Valley View Hospital.

Tripp went on to become a physician, graduating from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1990 and later completing his residency in family practice at OU Medical School in Oklahoma City. Dr. Hall practiced as both a family physician and emergency room physician throughout Oklahoma. He was deeply passionate about caring for his patients and took pride in his work. He often made house calls, inspired by his favorite movie, Patch Adams. He believed medicine should be practiced with humility and humor.

In his free time, Dr. Hall enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching OU football, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Lena Harrel, and her husband, Jake Harrel, of Leedey, Oklahoma; granddaughters Hadley, Ellie, Kimber, and Ava; grandson Jase; stepdaughter Ashlyn Colley and her husband, John, and their children, Aceleigh and Daylon; Lena and Ashlyn's mother, Pam Fields; his brother, Patrick M. Hall of Aspen, Colorado; nephew Alexander Hall; niece Caroline Shryock and her husband, Peter Shryock, of Oklahoma City; brother Kelly M. Hall and his wife, Karen Hall; nephews Jared Hall, Andrew Hall, and Austin Hall of O'Fallon, Missouri; and many other loving family members and friends.

Dr. Hall was preceded in death by his daughter, Katie Hall; his father, James N. Hall Jr.; and his mother, Patricia C. (Murray) Hall.
