ARLEY JOHNSON
ADA-Services for James Arley Johnson, 82, Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Life Community Church, Rev. Mickey Keith will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Johnson died Friday, March 4, 2011 at a local hospital. He was born February 8, 1929 at Wolf, Oklahoma to Roy and Matilda Magnolia Bailey Johnson. He lived most of his life in this area, moving to Fittstown about 1932. He graduated from McLish High School.
He married Leila Sue Shelton on October 4, 1951. Mr. Johnson was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone from 1949 and retiring in 1986. He later owned a dump truck service from 1986 until 1999. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Evangelistic Temple and attended Life Community Church in Ada. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Johnson, of the home; two sons, Jim Johnson and his wife Lisa, Ada and Tony Johnson and his wife Cheryl, Ada; six grandchildren, Joshua Brent Johnson, Jay Dylln Johnson, Dalton James Johnson, Raylene Marie Walkup, Jesse Ian Johnson and Amber Leigh Johnson; two great grandchildren, Shayleigh Johnson and Trendon Walkup; and a sister, Evelyn Hawkins, Ada.
He was preceded in death by a brother, R. D. Johnson and two sisters, Myrtle Cox and Lillie Barrick.
Bearers will be his grandchildren, Josh Johnson, Dylln Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Timmy Shelton and Jerry Lynn Shelton.
