JACKIE DAVIS

ADA-Services for Jackie Martell Davis, 74, Ada, are 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church, Rev. Frank Trent officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis died on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at a local nursing home. She was born January 6, 1936, at Mill Creek to Jack J. and Effie Tevis Davis and was raised at Lawrence, Oklahoma. She attended grade school at Oak Grove, Olustee, and Lawrence and graduated from Fitzhugh High School. She attended Draughon Business School, East Central University and graduated in the nursing program from Southeastern State College. She worked at Ballard Nursing Home, Ada Retirement and Care Center, and later at Valley View Hospital in Housekeeping. She was a member of Latta FCE and Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include a sister, Ramona Graham and husband James, Houston, Texas; two brothers, David Lee Davis and wife Barbara, Oklahoma City; and Bennie Davis, Abilene, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmie Davis and Jack Davis.

Bearers are Boyd Pitman, James Stout, Keith Trent, Stewart Johnson, Darrell Moore and Howard Welborn. Honorary bearers are Robert Bonar and Kenneth Butler.
