Jack D. Smith
Services for Jack D. Smith, 80, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the High Hill Baptist Church, Rev. Randy Golden will officiate. Burial will follow at High Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Smith passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at a local hospital. He was born August 24, 1935 at the Happyland Community, east of Ada to Grady and Willie Mullinax Smith. He attended Happyland grade school and Byng High School.
He married Tootsie Miller September 10, 1957. She preceded him in death May 17, 2015. Mr. Smith retired from Arkla Gas Company. He was a member of High Hill Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Williams of Ada; two sons, Ed Smith and wife Judy of Allen and Larry Smith and wife Liz of Ada; seven grandchildren, Jake Williams, Justin Smith, Kendra Sparks, Tammy Castillo, Cassie Smith, Ryan Smith and Macy Smith; and a brother, Glen Smith of Ada.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Roxie Winters; and three brothers, Bob Smith, Harold Smith and Hershel Smith.
Bearers will be Ronnie Miller, Gary Starns, James Miller, Keith Miller, Justin Smith, Jake Williams and Brian Smith. Honorary bearers will be Leon Willoughby, Travis Thetford, Tom Agee and Tommy Sanders.
