J. C. "SMOKEY" LONGACRE
STONEWALL-Memorial services for J. C. "Smokey" Longacre, 77, Stonewall, are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Marion and Wilma Ledbetter will officiate.
Mr. Longacre died Monday, March 23, 2009 at his home. He was born May 7, 1931 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Carlos Dillon and Emma Elzada Finley Longacre. He attended schools at Pauls Valley.
He married Retha Sue Pearson on December 30, 1984 at Silver City, Oklahoma. Mr. Longacre was a self-employed cowboy who rode broncs, bulls, was a silversmith, farrier, and horse trainer. He attended the Assembly of God Church and had served in the U. S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Longacre, of the home; his children, Jay Bob Longacre and wife Kerry of Yukon, and Dawn Welch and husband Fred, Stroud; his step-children, Tammy Molitor and husband Dan, Kenosha, Wisconsin, Sherry Leal and husband Harold, Ada, and Sheila Keiser and husband Shaun, Lexington, Kentucky; two brothers, Jack Good, Mannford and Bobby Joe Longacre, Oklahoma City; a sister, Emma Jean Lack and husband Charles, Wayne; numerous grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Goldie Pearson and a son, Shawn Longacre.
