PUNCH HOUCHEN
ADA-Services for J. Harold "Punch" Houchen, 59, Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2007, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Mark Goodwin, his nephew, will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Houchen died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at a local nursing home. He was born August 12, 1948 at Colinga, California to J. H. "Hoot" and Ethelyne Tatum Houchen Arterburn. He attended Latta schools and lived in this area most of his life.
Mr. Houchen was self-employed and originator of Rent A Cowboy. He served in the U. S. Marines from 1966 until 1970.
Survivors include his children, Kaye Kerby, Byars, Shawna Poe, Ada, and Jake Houchen, Memphis, Arkansas; three granchildren, Kevin and Teresa Morral, and Michael Poe; his step-father, Claude Arterburn, Ada; three sisters, Judy Houchen, Ada, Shirley Phillips and husband Gary, Ada, and Clareca Bishop and husband Rick, Ada; two nieces, five nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Those waiting to greet him upon his arrival in heaven are his father, J. H. "Hoot" Houchen, his mother, Ethelyne Arterburn, a sister, Debbie Houchen, nephew, Ray Creech, and a niece, Davia Fritcher.
Bearers will be his nephews, Mark Goodwin, Scotty Houchen, Kenny Don Lam, Michael Lawrence, Dustin Bishop, and his long time friend, Dwight McCullar.
